Straw-beer-y

Looking for a quick summer sip? This 5-minute strawberry crush is perfect for a Friday night sundowner. Just muddle strawberries, mint, and sugar, add ice, and top with low-alcohol beer for a sweet, refreshing twist.

Ingredients:

150g strawberries, hulled and quartered
2 tbsp caster sugar
2 mint sprigs, leaves picked
handful ice cubes
500ml bottle low-alcohol beer

Method:

  1. Divide the strawberries, caster sugar and mint leaves (reserving a few leaves to garnish) between 2 short glasses.
  2. Muddle with a spoon until well combined and the strawberries start to break down.  Top up with ice, then pour over the beer and gently mix with a long spoon.
  3. Serve immediately, garnished with mint.
