We’re sponsoring the first ever Chase Pride!

On Saturday 3rd September 2022, we’ll be sponsoring the first ever Chase Pride event! The celebration will be held at Hednesford Park, in Staffordshire from 11am until 8pm.

Chase Pride will celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, with the event also seeking to break down barriers by campaigning for further equality and inclusion for the community.

There will be two stages of entertainment, a community marketplace and exhibition. The PRIDE parade will start at the Hednesford Town Centre and will end at the Hednesford Park.

At the park there will be named headline acts taking to the stage, as well as the pride marketplace, Stokes Funfair which offers adult and children’s rides, Magical Mayhem children’s entertainment and Paws of Pride fun dog show, as well as licensed bars and a food court.

Working together with our LGBTQ+ Colleague Network, One Stop are sponsoring the headline stage where acts like drag queen Cheryl Hole from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will be performing.

Colleagues from local stores and our Store Support Centre will also be joining the Pride Parade and manning our stall which will have fun games, giving you a chance to win some excellent prizes and raise money for Chase Pride! Just look out for our One Stop t-shirts! We’re also proud to provide refreshments for all the fantastic volunteers working the event.

Aimee Mottram, Head of Retail and LGBTQ+ Network Sponsor, told us why the event is so important, “At One Stop, we are committed to serving & supporting the local communities that we are in, so being able to sponsor the first ever Chase Pride is an absolute honour.

For our LGBTQ+ Network, being able to show that One Stop is not only a LGBTQ+ employer but also a safe place for the community, in the community, is extremely important to us.

Local events such as Chase Pride are a great opportunity for us reach out into the LGBTQ+ community, and all being well this sponsorship is the first of many, so watch this space!”

Chase Pride is a volunteer-led charity, whose ethos is to promote tolerance, diversity, inclusion and education within the communities of the Cannock Chase area. The charity does great work supporting their LGBTQ+ neighbours, as well as campaigning to  eliminate all forms of discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.
