Easter FareShare Activity book

Easter FareShare Activity book

We’re working with FareShare to provide food to vulnerable families over Easter
After our successful Christmas partnership with FareShare, which supports vulnerable families with food across our communities, we are launching our Easter campaign to help those less fortunate.

We launched our partnership with FareShare at the end of last year, and donated £80,000 to support vulnerable families over the festive holiday and February half term this year. For Easter, we’ve created an activity book, which will be available in-store for just £1 from the 4th – 18th April. All the profits from these activity books will go towards helping FareShare provide food to families struggling to get enough to eat.

As well as our activity books, we’re donating 2p to FareShare from every individual and multipack of fresh fruit and vegetables sold from 11th April – 22nd April.

FareShare is the UK’s biggest charity fighting hunger and tackling food waste, beliving no good food should go to waste.

Liz Fox, Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility here at One Stop comments: “We fully support the work that FareShare are doing and see first hand how people in our communities may need some additional support. It is a sad fact that in today’s society, people are reliant on these charity networks to survive, much of which was escalated during the pandemic. As a community-based retailer we want to do as much as we can to assist.

“Our store colleagues know their customers incredibly well and find ways to help them on an individual basis, every day. However, our relationship with FareSare on a national level enables us to consolidate some of these efforts into a campaign that will raise additional funds and drive awareness of this superb charity.

“The size of our operations and the number of stores we have means that we’re hoping to make a real difference this Easter and as a business we’re incredibly proud to have the opportunity to help support the work of FareShare. The activity books were popular at Christmas so we hope our families enjoy them again this Easter.”

This is the second time that we’ve launched a childrens activity book to help raise funds for FareShare. Both our Christmas and Easter activity books feature Lesley the Leek as the hero of our story.

The limited-edition book will be available to purchase for £1 across all our stores and includes colouring pages, wordsearches, dot to dot and has a story running through it, with characters to find.

The FareShare partnership will be promoted in store with point of sale (POS) and digital marketing, with colleagues fully supporting it. “We have a real mix of customers,” continues Liz, “from people who might not know anything about Fareshare, right through to those who may benefit from the support of charities such as FareShare. We hope all our customers get fully behind the initiative and we can work together as a collective to really help drive change.”

Keep your eyes peeled in Summer of this year, as we are already planning a third activity book in partnership with FareShare!
