Help us reach our £1million fundraising milestone with Children in Need’s Sportacular Collectibles!
So far, we’ve raised over £850k for Children in Need since our partnership started in 2013 and we’re on a mission to smash our targets and reach the milestone figure of £1million for the charity by the end of the year!
To help our fundraising goals, we’re working with Children in Need to create an exclusive range of ‘Sportacular’ collectibles featuring the well-loved Pudsey Bear in a series of sporting guises, including a footballer, rugby player, skater, basketball player, horse rider, cricketer, runner and tennis player.
The limited-edition figures will be available to purchase at all One Stop stores across the UK from 26th September. They will be sold for £1 each, in a sealed “blind bag”, so you won’t know what figure you’re purchasing, adding to the excitement and making it a fun journey to collect them all!
Across a number of selected stores, you’ll also be able to buy a collector board to store all your figures on – but be quick! There are only 5000 of these available. When a collector board is purchased, you will also receive a free ninth figure to complete your collection.
To align with our sustainability commitments, the exclusive Children in Need collection has been made from recycled car parts and fridges.
As well as our collectibles, we’ll also be selling a core range of Children in Need merchandise including Pudsey & Blush Ears, pin badges and water bottles, alongside a range of other products which will be available in selected stores. Everything will go on sale from 26th September until 18th November.
Jack Taylor, Community and Partnership Manager explains: “Last year we raised over £146,000 for Children in Need – our largest ever amount for the charity. If we reach that figure again this year, we’ll have raised £1 million since our partnership began in 2013! We’re confident it won’t be an ‘if’ we raise it but ‘when’ we raise it!
“We are always incredibly grateful to the generosity of our customers and the wider community and know they will get fully behind our colleagues and engage in all the great fundraising activities we’ve got planned. This year they can also enjoy some of our special merchandise, especially our exclusive One Stop Sportacular collectibles.
“At One Stop we’re incredibly proud of the relationship we’ve built with Children in Need over the years and the money raised for a charity which does so much for children and young people around the UK.”
For our younger customers, we’re creating colouring in sheets to go along with the collectables which can be downloaded on our website. These can then be adorned with and even used to display the collectables at home.
The money raised by us and the rest of the Children in Need contributors is used to help ensure every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure and has the opportunities they need to reach their full potential. It funds over 2,500 charities and projects and is a great organisation for us to work with as it distributes funding to community charities many of which are local to our stores via our grant programme. This means that as well as helping national causes, customers know they are helping vulnerable children in their own areas.
