In 1850, Thomas Hardy twisted a grape and turned it into gold. He was just a man, they say. Who walked from Devon to Australia with £30 in his pocket. When drought struck, he danced for rain. When floods came, he taught grapes to swim. And when fire raged, he doused it with wine.
