Hop into the fun with these Easter activities for kids
As Easter approaches, parents are always looking for ways to keep their children entertained and engaged during this time. Fortunately, there are a variety of Easter activities that you can plan for your kids to enjoy. From decorating eggs to hunting for treats, there is something for everyone. Here are some fun and exciting Easter activities that will bring smiles to your kids’ faces.
1. Bunny Hop Sack Race
This classic game is easy to set up and is suitable for all ages. All you need are burlap sacks, bunny tails, and your family! You can create your own sacks by cutting burlap fabric into rectangles and attaching a bunny tail to each one. If you can’t find any burlap sacks, just use some old pillowcases instead, they work just as well!
Enjoy personalising the sacks with paint or fabric markers. You can increase the fun by including obstacles like cones and offering small prizes for the winners. It’s a fun and affordable way to add excitement to your Easter celebration and promote friendly competition.
2. Egg and Spoon Race
The egg and spoon race is another classic Easter activity that your kids will love. To play, participants balance an egg on a spoon and race to the finish line without dropping it. This game is not only fun but also helps to develop hand-eye coordination and balance in children. You can create an obstacle course for added excitement, or you can simply have a straight race. This activity is perfect for outdoor Easter celebrations and is sure to bring smiles to your children’s faces.
3. Easter Egg Hunt
An Easter egg hunt is a classic activity that kids of all ages love. You can either hide plastic eggs filled with treats or real eggs (but make sure to hard boil them first) in your garden. To make the egg hunt even more exciting, you can create a map or a series of clues for your kids to follow. This will turn the activity into a scavenger hunt and make it even more fun for your children. For all your Easter essentials, drop by your nearest One Stop store, where we have everything you need*. And remember, we’re open on Easter Sunday too!
4. Guess How Many
To set up this guessing game, you’ll need a large jar and a variety of mini Easter eggs. The mini eggs can be of different colours, sizes and flavours. Once the jar is filled, it can be placed on display where everyone can see it. It is a good idea to have a label with the total number of mini eggs on the jar or in a visible place, so everyone knows what they are guessing. You can have everyone at the party, young and old, submit their guesses for the total number of mini eggs in the jar. You can have a designated place for them to write their guesses and make sure to note the name of the person who makes the guess. It’s a great way to get everyone involved and engaged in the celebration.
5. Decorating Easter Eggs
Decorating Easter eggs is a timeless tradition that kids love. You will need some boiled eggs, food colouring, and some creativity to make this activity a success.
To decorate eggs, first, boil them for 10-12 minutes until they are fully cooked. Once the eggs are cool, dip them in bowls of food colouring mixed with water. You can also use markers, stickers, and glitter to decorate them. Kids can use their imagination and create unique designs that reflect their personalities.
Easter is a time for fun and celebration, and we hope these activities will help your kids get into the holiday spirit. Plan these activities with your kids and watch them hop into the fun! Happy Easter!
