World Mental Health Day: Let’s Talk, Listen and Support Each Other
At One Stop, we know how important mental wellbeing is, whether you’re popping in for your essentials or taking a moment to pause with a cuppa at home, we want our stores to be a place where you feel supported, seen, and part of a caring community.
Why Mental Health Matters
Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. Just like physical health, it needs regular care. Life can be busy and stressful, and sometimes we all need a reminder to slow down, check in with ourselves, and reach out if we need help.
Two Simple Steps to Better Mental Wellbeing
Here’s a helpful two-step approach to looking after your mental health:

1. Be Self-Aware
Start by noticing how you feel. Are you more tired than usual? Feeling overwhelmed? Do certain situations or people affect your mood? Being aware of these signs helps you take action early, before things build up.
2. Practice Self-Care
Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. It could be:
- Taking a walk
- Talking to a friend
- Enjoying a quiet moment with a hot drink
- Getting enough sleep
- Saying “no” when you need to
Even small changes can make a big difference.
Tea & Talk: A Brew Can Be a Bridge
Sometimes, the best way to support someone is simply by sitting down for a chat. Why not invite a friend or neighbour for a tea and talk? We’ve got a great range of teas, coffees, and biscuits in-store, perfect for a cosy catch-up.

So this World Mental Health Day, let’s check in with ourselves and each other. A smile, a chat, or a shared biscuit might be just what someone needs today.
